""Bad and Blue" is the CD solo debut from California's Jimmy Dillon, long a fixture of the Marin County club scene. Dillon kicked around for years with reggae-rockers The Edge, as fine an unsigned bar band as I've ever seen, before striking out on his own with the vinyl-only E.P. "Fool for Love", a flawed product which tried too hard to be commercial. With Bad and Blue, Dillon has corrected that problem, with an album that highlights all his many strengths - fine guitar work, strong songwriting, a smoky, romantic vocal style, and varied arrangements creating a nice range of styles and moods. Particularly noteworthy is his atmospheric cover of the Stones "No Expectations"."
