CD Reviews

Finally!
Darlene Whiteman | Baltimore, MD USA | 08/02/2007

"I had an 8-track of this group's songs, but needless to say, that has gone by the wayside. I had tried in vain for several years to find a CD from this group and I finally located it! (Thanks Amazon for listing this!) There are some great songs on this CD and I am glad to finally have these recordings."
One Of '70s Classic Album

"I've been searching this band for many years and at last I found it in Amazon.Com. I consider it one of the best albums I've ever owned. My '70s LP was already a thing of the past and put already on archive. When I first saw this on Amazon I ordered it right away and in few days I was listening to this album in January of 2008.

This is a classic album and a must for many collectors. All selections are beautifully recorded and as classy as I first heard it during the the '70s."

"If like me you were a baby in the early 1970s, you might remember mom taking you food shopping, and hearing "Nice To Be With You." on the Country Squire AM radio. It is one of those songs that sticks in your head, and this is not nessacarly good.

But the slide guitar was a nice hook, so when I walked into a thrift shop a few years ago and saw this cheap, i thought, what the hell. Maybe these guys scored an AM smaltz hit, but did a classy album--hey, the Guess Who struck big with "These Eyes," but the albums rocked, and they are one of my favorate bands now.. Better yet--remember, slide guitar--maybe Gallery went into Little Feat lite territory.

Not! Lowell or Burton are NOWHERE to be found. TRUST ME! "Nice To Be With You" is actually one of the rockier songs on the album, and No!: that is not a complament. These guys are ok players--if that is them and not a seesion unit--but most of this is lounge 1970s cheese, not even hooky enough to make it on 70s top forty.

Unless you are really curious, skip this. If you buy, hold your nose."
