Synopsis

Product Description
Her 1993 solo recording debut, "Jill O'Hara", became a classic and favorite of disc jockeys and critics, earning her a spot as "One Of The 10 Best Recordings Of The Year" by Backstage Magazine. With all of the initial copies sold out, used copies of the recording have become a rare, in demand cult favorite garnering high prices internationally.

Working with some of the finest jazz and classical musicians and arrangers (Torrie Zito, Joe Roccisano, Bill Mays, 'Blue Lou' Marini, Tim Ries, The Alexander String Quartet), this live studio recording is an eclectic collection of great songs from great composers of different eras.
Fans will be delighted to know that O'Hara has reissued this CD in conjunction with her new CD "Jill O'Hara Alone Together", which has also been unanimously praised by critics and chosen as "One Of The 10 Best Vocal Albums Of The Year". (Rob Lester, Sound Advice)

Before moving on to her concert and recording career, for which she won a BACKSTAGE MAGAZINE BISTRO AWARD, Jill won a TONY NOMINATION for BEST ACTRESS-MUSICAL STAR, as well as a NEW JERSEY JOURNAL and THEATRE WORLD AWARD for her starring performance in PROMISES, PROMISES on Broadway (originating "I"LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN"). She can also be heard on The original cast albums of GEORGE M! and HAIR (introducing "GOOD MORNING STARSHINE")

CD Reviews

A great voice we haven't heard enough of
Michael J Edelman | Huntington Woods, MI USA | 04/25/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Jill O'Hara made a big splash on Broadway in 1968 with her outstanding performance as Fran Kubelik in Bacharach and David's "Promises, Promises". She never followed that up with another Broadway hit, which is a pity as she has a wonderfully rich and expressive voice. Since then she's been known- or unknown- mainly as a cabaret singer, and this album is a great showcase of her talents. Her voice is every bit as good as it was in 1968. Better, really, as it's matured along with her, and she shows she can still deliver both intimate ballads and big show stoppers in her beautiful and distinctive voice."
Wow!
