Synopsis

Album Description
This Montreal singer/songwriter has long been acknowledged as extremely gifted and has had the privilege of opening for such artists as Sean Lennon, Keane, Tegan And Sara, David Usher, Jonathan Richman, Hayden, Ben Lee, Mellissa Auf Der Maur, and others. J.F. brings to mind Leonard Cohen and Bright Eyes with his rich simplicity - bare acoustic guitar and an almost whimsical, sentimental lyricism. A hybrid pop romanticism that seems at times lightly touched by the ghosts of eras long past, but only fleetingly so. This EP includes four songs from his upcoming debut, a non-album demo, and a beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat".

CD Reviews

The Best Folk-Rock EP I Have Ever Heard From a Canadian
Jacksenron | Midlothian, Tx | 02/09/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"After listening to The Blood In My Body for fifteen seconds you will know if you love or hate JF Robitaille. He is not out to change your life with deep lyrics. His simple type of guitar fits great with his simple lyrics. This EP could have eaily been a 5 star selection if the last song was left off. The first four tracks are all amazing songs and greatly produced. Track five is a demo so I have to go easy on him on that one, but track six was a Leonard Cohen cover that should have been left off in return for an original song."

So let the rain fall...

"If I were you I'd get this cd for New York alone. I Absolutely adore that song...It's one of my favs. It's short and sweet, but very effective. I think that JF Robitaille has some real talent, and I hope he comes out with more soon.

Check out these lyrics~

"So let the rain fall

I kind of wanted to

see what we're made of

now that everything is new

It was a slow death

not much dignity

so let the rain fall

and if we drown it's happily"
