Another superb success!

"The multitalented, award-winning Jessica Harper is out with a new CD, and it is another success!!

Entitled "Hey Picasso", the 12 tracks were inspired by some of her favorite famous artists. Van Gogh, Monet, Mary Cassatt, Degas, Renoir, and (of course!) Picasso are among those artists represented.

Jessica has said that the music sprang from her own experience of looking at art. The songs celebrate family life, childhood, and friendship while offering new ways to look at famous pieces of art. She has included even more children's voices as well as sophisticated instrumental stylings and jazzy solos. For example, the song "Not Your Father's" (inspired by Picasso's Three Musicians) involves a scat with her daughters Elizabeth and Nora (yes, THAT Nora!) and niece Rosie.

In this upbeat, playful new CD, Jessica gives us music to enhance and enliven a child's first impression of a painting. Her exuberant mix of jazz, reggae, pop and folk will have everybody dancing in the museum!

Aside from her other six award-winning (and fabulous!) CDs, Jessica also has released wonderfully illustrated children's books based on some of her most famous and popular songs (Nora's Room, Four Boys Named Jordan, etc.). Her website is terrific as well, with information on all her doings, and a fun "activity" site, with cute Fun Forms, coloring pages, do-your-own-frames, and more! --Lisa Steele
