CD Reviews

Totally addicted!

"I was blown away with Jesse McCartney's vocal maturity when Departure was released and I am probably one of the few that decided to purchase the album after listening to the leaked songs on youtube. I have great love for his ballads that showcase his powerful voice and really look forward to his future releases.

My favorites are 'Told You So', 'Not Your Enemy', 'It's Over' but I love them all and have not stopped listening to this album in the year since it's release....but with the re-release I am now totally addicted to the 4 newer songs. (I purchased the new one also.) I really like 'Oxygen' and 'Body Language', but 'Crash & Burn' is now stuck in my head (I want the ringtone!). I also wasn't sure about 'In My Veins', but it has really grown on me in the last few days. Since I'm old enough to be his mother, some of the lyrics aren't what I would use, but the production and beats are so infectious I can accept them as the product of youthful expression today.

I am also not a fan of hip/hop or rap, but can get into the Jesse/Ludacris remix of 'How Do You Sleep?', however, I prefer the rhythmic version (check out at [...] - Jan 8 news entry).

Jesse has such tremendous vocal talent and I am addicted to his voice. With 'Departure: Recharged' his growth since the original release is very apparent and I only wish him much success.

I believe he has a very bright future ahead of him and hope that more people will set aside their 'pre-conceived' image of him and give him a listen. This CD is well worth it! Keep up the good work, Jesse."
