One Of Jerry Vale's Most Popular 60's Albums
Scott F. Rogers | Columbus, Indiana United States | 05/21/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)
"Sporting one of his most handsome LP covers, "Till" has to be one of Jerry Vale's most re-released albums. The vocals on this CD are an excellent example of what big name crooners did with the popular songs of the 60's. The title song is a wonderful showcase for Jerry Vales vocal range. His version of "Mac Arthur Park" and "Promises Promises", boosts Vale hitting some of his highest and long-held notes. (He hits his highest note in the song "Come Back To Sorrento" on his CD "Sings The Greatest Italian Hits".) "My Special Angel" and "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" are superb and could have been hit singles with the right marketing. My favorite song on this CD is "Look Homeward Angel". Given the Vale treatment, it's haunting and beautiful.
The only song that Vale should have left off this album is "Those Were The Days". It's just not a Jerry Vale style song, hense the 4 stars I give this CD rather than 5."
