CD Reviews

CD Shows Range of Jerry's Talents
09/22/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"From the opera-like drama of "Be My Love" to the country lilt of "Have You Ever Been Lonely," this CD proves that Jerry Vale can take any song in any style and make it his own. His pure vocal talent and sensitivity to a lyric are evident throughout. "Have You Looked Into Your Heart" and "All the Way" are gems. Buy it and find out what real singing is all about."
ANOTHER Excellent Double Jerry Vale CD Collection
Scott F. Rogers | Columbus, Indiana United States | 06/12/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every song that Jerry Vale sings is absolute perfection. With cystal clear vocals, no flaws, no mistakes, and superb delivery, Jerry Vale is the finest contemporary pop male vocalist in the last 100 years. This digitally remastered double CD delivers the goods, as do most of his CDs. "Because Your Mine", one of my favorites by Vale, is very dramatic, giving Vale a chance to really show off those high tenor notes of perfection. "Andiamo" is one of those songs that sticks in your head. It was a jukebox favorite with a nice rhythm and some great high notes. I also remember "Have You Looked Into Your Heart" as a swinging jukebox hit, and the country song, "Tears Keep On Falling", would play in the background of your local pub. "Unchained Melody" is beautifully done, and just as good as the original sung by the Righteous Brothers.

This CD, "The Language Of Love/Till The End Of Time", and "There Goes My Heart/I Hear A Rhapsody", are collections of some of the finest Jerry Vale recordings you'll find. And, with the digital remastering, they're better than ever."
An EXCELLENT twofer CD from the great Jerry Vale

"This excellent Jerry Vale CD has all the songs from two of Jerry's record albums entitled Be My Love and Have You Looked Into Your Heart. As always, Jerry Vale delivers each ballad with care and precision--and he makes it all look and sound so easy, too. Jerry always gave blood to make his numbers shine; and his adoring audiences loved him for it. The quality of the sound on this CD is excellent and I like that artwork. The artwork incorporates the original artwork that was on the record album releases back in the day.

The CD begins with Jerry singing "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" from the 1955 movie of the same name. I don't recall if this song got an Oscar for best song or not; but it certainly deserved it! Jerry sings this with panache and the lush musical arrangement makes good use of the strings. "Unchained Melody" is very easy on the ear; this features Jerry squarely in the spotlight and all the operatic qualities of his voice are clear on this track. Jerry also handles "Mona Lisa" with all his heart and soul; "Mona Lisa" is easily a major highlight on this CD and I think you'll like it, too. Great! "Because You're Mine" is another gem in Jerry's capable hands; his excellent diction bolsters his performance all the more and I love it.

"All the Way" is a timeless ballad into which Jerry delves deep in order to make it so very special; and those strings sound great as Jerry sings this faultlessly. "Too Young" is also very pretty; I really like "Too Young." Listen also for Jerry to outdo even himself on "Secret Love" and "Vaya Con Dios (Go With God);" "Vaya Con Dios" never sounded so good as when Jerry sang it on this album and that's grand. "Have You Looked Into Your Heart" charms me with its beauty; and although Jerry didn't need any backup singers they sure do sounds pretty good at any rate. In addition, "I'm Yours" gets the royal treatment from Jerry; this passionate ballad is quite romantic and I could never tire of hearing Jerry Vale singing songs like this one.

"Andiamo" sports a lovely Latin beat; and it's perfect for dancing all alone with your sweetheart late at night in your living room. "There Are Such Things" impresses me with its grace; Jerry never skips a beat nor does he ever let go of a single superfluous note! The melody is also very easy on the ear; it's a highlight of this CD.

"I Dream Of You" has a fantastic musical arrangement that perfectly complements Jerry's vocals; and he really does a great job on "Love Goddess." "Love Goddess" showcases yet another romantic number that sounds so much better when a master like Jerry sings it. Great! I really like ""Old Cape Cod;" this is Jerry at his very best. The CD even ends strong with Jerry Vale performing "Ti Adoro." "Ti Adoro" lets Jerry show off his chops yet again and it leaves me wanting more.

This is clearly one of the best twofer Jerry Vale CDs out there; and so I highly recommend this for his fans. People who enjoy classic pop vocals will also like this album.
