Interesting Music and Dialouge

"The music on this album was Jazzy and held a nice mood. The dialouge was interesting enough to catch my ear so I could want to watch the film."
Much better than you may have heard

"SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION (1993) is one of five films Jerry Goldsmith scored for director Fred Schepisi during the 1990s, beginning with THE RUSSIA HOUSE in 1990 and concluding with FIERCE CREATURES in 1997. None of these scores is a fan favorite. Other than the one for RUSSIA HOUSE, which is dour throughout, they are all light-hearted and, as good as they were for the films, don't comfortably stand rigorous comparison with most of Jerry's better-known work. I avoided them for a few years due to the bad buzz but now have all five.

This particular one is actually a very cool score and its texture is unique in Jerry's canon; it's latin ensemble and chamber only - very intimate. A Goldsmith-original tango over and over in different colorations (reminds me of Jerry's mid-1960s FLINT scores) makes up much of it. Some Debussy, too. It's just too bad there's not more here - the total music is under 20 minutes. Skip the dialog cues and program this to play only the music and it really is very entertaining! More than any other Goldsmith disc, this one taught me that he's always worth it!"
