The music of the Jérémie Ternoy Trio is rough, sophisticated, vigorous, melancholy, modern, and romantic. Jazz is central, but the influences of Chick Corea and Paul Bley mingle with those of Bartók and Satie. Ternoy composed all of the pieces, but improvisation is of crucial importance. The musicians, true virtuosos, forge a discourse that is at once meaningful, sensitive, and complementary. The listener will hear not only the beauty of the chords, but also the sound of breathing bodies and the creaking of stools. That is the challenge this trio has set for itself--to hide nothing.
