"...they certainly sound good.Swing-era jazz piano is just too much fun to start with, and this set of Jelly Roll stuff doesn't break that tradition.Replete with goofy voiced over laughter and almost embarassingly silly interaction between Jelly and his band, this record is a fabulous snap shot of a too-often overlooked hero of early recorded jazz piano.A hero to the likes of Ray Bryant and Doctor John, Jelly rolls (sorry) through track after track of stride and whimsy - unintentionally paving the way for the jazz greats that would follow.If you are looking for just a single Jelly Roll recording, this cleanly mastered collection of 22(!) tracks is perfect."
