I initially looked at this cd because I know Jeffrey Osborne has a fabulous voice. When I read what songs he sings I ordered it. This is a wonderful selection of great songs performed by a truly talented artist.

Great addition to any collection

"I've been a fan of Jeffrey Osborne since he fronted LTD and belted out hits like "Shine On" and "Love Ballad." Since then, he made his own mark as a solo artist with "On the Wings of Love," "You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song)" and "Stay With Me Tonight." As one of the smoothest vocalists in the R&B world, Osborne has consistently delivered albums that have been as satisfying as they have been underrated. Now, with "From the Soul," Osborne gives us a collection of cover songs that is already getting noticed on the Urban AC charts. He has reinterpreted classic tunes in his own, silky-smooth style, from Aretha Franklin's "Till You Come Back To Me," to the Curtis Mayfield standard, "People Get Ready," to Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Also included are his first chart hit from the album, "Yes, I'm Ready," and the much-covered "Hey Girl." Overall, this compilation stands very well alongside the recent releases from Michael McDonald and Hall & Oates, and should be welcomed into the collection of any classic R&B fan."

"Jeffrey Osborne has done it again! What a smooth album filled with Jeff's smooth-toned voice! I have enjoyed every track on this CD. His remake on such tunes as "Close the Door", "Till you come back to me, and "Every little bit hurts" takes you back to the good old days when music was sweet and mellow. I highly recommend this CD to all those "real music" lovers who just want to sit make and reflect on better days. A must have for any music collection!"
