A Diva Of Grace And Substance

"Jean Carne And Happy To Be With You are two exceptional albums.

"Free Love", "No Laughing Matter", "I'm In Love Once Again" showcases that if given the right material, it lives by itself.

Those three, plus, "Time Waits For No One", "You Got A Problem" are my faves from the first album. Happy To Be With You showcases her jazz roots. My faves are "Betcha She Don't Love You", "Don't Let It Go To Your Head" and the title track. In it's entirety, this is the best that you get from Mrs. Carne!

I copped the other twofer, and that one slams too! Get them!"
Her first two classic albums available again.

"The two albums featured on this CD are both absolute classics and should be considered "Essentials" for any true fan of good and real R&B music. Timeless ballads like "Where Did You Ever Go?", "No Laughing Matter", "I'm In Love Once Again", "Together Once Again", "Revelation/Infant Eyes" and,of course, Jean's signature song (the immortal "Don't Let It Go To Your Head") more than justify buying this CD. Jean Carn may never have enjoyed the kind of commercial acclaim and mainstream recognition she so deserved but these two albums provide irrefutable proof of her greatness."
