Javier s debut albums on the Red Pill label feature a compilation of songs performed in English on You and Spanish on Tu. This new work, produced by Jacob Detering (Bonnie Raitt, Amy Petty, R. Scott Bryan) is the culmination of a journey that began in Spain and came to fruition at Red Pill Studios in St. Louis.
The eleven songs written for You were then meticulously translated into Spanish for Tu with the assistance of one of Spain s Poet Laureates, Alvaro Tato. The realizations of a long time dream of Javier s, these dual language recordings, faithfully convey all the power of the poetry in which the lyrics were originally conceived. These new songs echo an elixir of musical influences including Death Cab For Cutie, Café Tacuba, U2, Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and Vetusta Morla.
