A Treasure Trove of One Piece Themes
NomadicLass | Columbia Falls, MT | 01/11/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The One Piece Best Album contains the first two opening and the first nine ending themes of the One Piece anime series. Please note that is for the original Japanese version of One Piece, not the 4Kids US version! The opening themes on this disk will take you through episode 115, while the ending themes run through episode 156. One Piece Best Album 2 will take you a bit further into the series. One note about the songs - they are the full length versions by the artists, not the shortened versions that are actually used in the anime series.

In addition to the themes, there are three other songs featured that are neither opening nor closing themes. Below is a rundown of the tracks and what opening/ending they correspond to.

1. We Are! (Opening 1)

2. Believe (Opening 2)

3. Memories (Ending 1)

4. Run! Run! Run! (Ending 2)

5. Watashi ga iru Yo (Ending 3)

6. Shouchi no Suke (Ending 4)

7. Ready!

8. Mabushikute

9. Before Dawn (Ending 5)

10. Fish (Ending 6)

11. Glory - Kimi ga iru kara (Ending 7)

12. Shining Ray (Ending 8)

13. Free Will (Ending 9)

Bonus track: Family

"Ready!" is the song played in the featurette "Jango's Dance Carnival" which was attached to One Piece Movie 2, Clockwork Island Adventure.

"Mabushikute" is the theme song for One Piece Movie 3, Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals.

"Family" is a character song sung by the seven seiyu (voice actors) of the Strawhat pirate crew.

As mentioned by the previous reviewer, if you are looking for the background music played throughout the series, this is not the album to buy. Your best bet might be to purchase the upcoming three disk set, One Piece BGM (background music) Collection, due to be released at the end of Jan 07 / beginning of Feb 07 or try to locate the various Music and Song Collections that have been released throughout the running of the series.

"then you should buy this album but if you are looking for the music that accompanies the story then I suggest looking elsewhere."
