James Mee began writing children's songs and stories for, and with, his two daughters and nieces and their band, The Braids, 18 years ago. He has performed his songs and stories for kids all over the United States, at schools, day-care centers, community centers and book stores from his home state of Vermont to Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, Utah, Maryland, Florida, Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and others. The songs are memorable, entertaining, educational, and, combined with the live show, generally a lot of laughs. Most of the songs have call-back responses which make them easy to sing along with and learn, and thus lend an "interactive" aspect to the performances. An accomplished folk and popular music songwriter, musician, performing artist, poet and author, James Mee takes special pride and satisfaction in the grins and giggles he brings to children everywhere he performs for and with them.
