CD ReviewsCollection of an Era 07/19/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "The Jam were never really known outside England, but to the people who knew of them, they meant a hell of a lot to them. This collection (mainly of singles) is a tremendous introduction to Paul Weller and to the band. Each track is another brick in the wall of britpop. Early punk-inspired rockers like "In The City" and "All Around The World" are replaced later on by the accoustic classic "That's Entertainment" and more soulful numbers like the brilliant "The Bitterest Pill". Highly recommended to anyone with a remote interest in British music."
