A Jaw-dropper!

"Words can't do enough justice to this 1965 live jam session. Just when you think Freddie's or Jimmy's riffs on each song can't get any hotter, any longer, any more explosive, each of these jazz giants steps up in turn to belt out an even more amazing solo. Each track is longer than the preceding one, CULMINATING IN A 17-MINUTE JAW-DROPPING, JAM-RIPPING RENDITION OF "AUTUMN LEAVES". Feeding off the excitement of a live audience, Freddie's range and Jimmy's unbelievable breath command will blow you away. Hubbard and Heath, arguably at the pinnacle of their talents at the time of this performance, reach deep to produce this absolutely phenomenal set. This album will make you weep for joy just to know that you own it."
GOOD SHOW

"Freddie in mid 60's Baltimore again this time with Jimmy Heath on tenor sax and a rhythm section led by little known Gus Sims. Autumn Leaves is my favorite up tempo track. After a combined opening statement Heath and Hubbard each solo a bit over 6 min.each, while maintaining the flavor of the tune. Pianist Sims keeps his solo rather brief. Minus a star for live sound quality, not for playing. These guys cook.---- Speaking of cooking, a little known Freddie Hubbard sideman session from the early 60's is pianist Duke Pearson's- DEDICATION with Pepper Adams on baritone sax and Willie Wilson on trombone. But be sure to get of to a snappier start with- Apothegem."
