CD Reviews

The soundtrack as perfect companion to the incredible film.

"Strangelove's ingenious issuing of the ORGY OF THE DEAD soundtrack is perhaps the greatest "find" in the compact disc's brief history. Not simply a compendium of highlights, the cd contains nearly the entire soundtrack itself, complete with immortally sublime Ed Wood dialogue, presented as only Criswell could convicingly articulate. This is some of the most enjoyable, funniest, groovinest strip music ever produced. To fully appreciate such inadvertent genius, be sure to acquire a copy of the 1966 film, avilable on Rhino video. Jaw-dropping."
Outstandingly entertaining piece of garbage!

"Forget Plan 9 from Outer Space, killer tomatoes and giant leeches. This team of bad movie fans rates Orgy of the Dead as the worst movie in history by a wide margin! And this CD makes it possible to enjoy the horrendous dialogue, hokey audio effects and cheesy music with especial clarity. Of course, it isn't possible for any CD to reproduce all the inept effects for which Ed Wood is famous--the cheap costumes, awful topless go go dancing, and inebriated Prince of Darkness have to be seen to be believed--but the sound is superb. You'll hear such dialogue gems as, "Pussycat was born to be whupped," and "Torture, torture! It pleasures me!" with hilarious clarity. Imagine the astonishment of your friends as you pop this one into your car's CD player. And the best part is that it's all dead serious. So if you are a serious bad-movie fan, this CD is a must for your collection. By the way, the low-quality strip tease music is included in its entirety, so you can practice to become a third-rate exotic dancer into the bargain. Who knows? There may be an incompetent moviemaker in YOUR future..."
