CD ReviewsStatic Bliss is the Greatest BLISS of all! Rebel D | Los Angeles | 02/13/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I discovered Jag Star's music a few years ago while watching The Hills on MTV. The songs I got turned on to were 'Disguise' and 'Leavin' from their Best Impression of Sanity album. I really liked the fact that their music really matched the mood of what was happening on screen. Somebody definitely knew what they were doing when they picked Jag Star for The Hills.
I was always wondering when Jag Star would release a new album and voila; along comes Static Bliss. I was so excited to see the listing that I downloaded it right away! From the soaring opening notes of 'Talk To Me' this album shimmers throughout with top-notch production and incredibly infectious choruses. My favorites are 'Pressure' with its driving energetic bass line and 'Rewind" with its big fat wall of sound behind the chorus: "Re-Wind, I take it back. Some-times. I get off track." There's also great slower tracks like the moody "At The End" and "A Different Road" to just chill out too. Funny enough, every time I listen to "A Different Road," I keep hearing Johnny Rzeznik or Jon Bon Jovi singing it. But when it comes to the song "Shine," (a Mr. Clean or Windex anthem?) it's nothing but singer Sarah Lewis stealing the show with her amazing vocals. Sarah, IMHO, is right on par with Gwen Stefani, Hayley Williams, LIGHTS and Katy Perry. She's a future superstar! I'm so happy that Jag Star is back and as Jag-tastic as ever!" |
