"An ambitious effort between Madlib and the drummer from Azymuth (Ivan Conte). I first played this CD in my car on the way to work and every time it finished I wanted to play it all over again. Track 18 "Segura esta Onda" is one of many gems; Edu Lobo's "Upa Neguinho" is given the 21st century treatment as is the classic "Berimbau". I have several Azymuth CDs but they are a little predictable if not boring and I have never put an Azymuth CD on constant rotation as I have done with "Sujunho". It's Sunday today and I have playing this CD now for a week. On a good stereo system (as aopposed to a car) it all sounds even deeper and amazing - challenging, poly-rhythmic, layered, dense, dancable. This is something altogether different than most modern Brazilian music. A bit like what Bill Laswell tried to do for Cuban music with CD 2 of "Havana Mood" and a bit like the excellent Bossa Cuca Nova CDs but far better than either. Amazing stuff."
