Good Cage "number piece"

"Cage composed many late "number pieces", which are ultra-minimalist: individual tones and "time brackets" in which each tone can start and end, with dynamics left to the performers' discretion. The music can be meditative and beautiful, but is best recommended to Cage fans. This is a recording of the world premiere of "58", performed by 58 members of a wind ensemble scattered around an ancient Austrian courtyard. If you're curious about the "number pieces", this is a good place to start, because the large ensemble produces a denser and more "accessible" sound than many number pieces for smaller ensembles, which contain frequent long silences."
