"Had rock music continued in this vein - studying and building upon the roots of rock, letting musicianship develop along with the "ethos" of rock, the freedom of it, the edge ... well, "punk" might never have happened, because it might not have NEEDED to happen. Lissenup! Play these cuts, followed by a couple of Pretty Things albums, and it'll clean out yer system."
