"Most young musicians in the world tend to cling to the styles of the most popular great artists of past decades as they tearfully search for a unique sound for their instrument and ideas. Every once and a while some young musician is reminded of how limitless their musical capabilities can be when they hear something along these lines. Some people believe jazz has dissolved and completely lost its central energy. If you listen closely, around the world there are a handfuls of artists here and there, with media attention and without, who are making progress and furthering our understanding of what music can do. Mr.Rozen has walked off of the beaten track and returned, bearing sounds never heard combined in such ways. I expected the result to be something I could listen to in my headphones at night to relax and groove to. The beauty of the music tends to this quite well...however...it also keeps me up late, wondering how he does it and where he could go next. No matter what, It runs deeper than my ears for sure. Sometimes we all forget what music can do, and here he reminds us and shows us what it can be in the future. Issi Rozen's amazing technical skill aside, what he makes with his talented quartet is not just innovative, but a reason to place more trust in the future of jazz and all music. Any music lover-It should immeadiatly go into your collection...For musicians, keep it in your stereo for a while..."
