"Due to a turbulant past upon his arrival in this country from his native Cuba. Israel has never earned the respect that he derserves from his singing talents. This albums shows a man with a great voice similar of the great cuban soneros from yesteryears. If you like Benny More, you will enjoy this modern era Benny type singing old classics. Enjoy."

"The late, great Israel Kantor never got his props in this country. Back when he Wilfredo Sardinas, he sang lead on some of the best songs by Los Van Van in Cuba. After he defected and changed his name, he should have become the best known Latin singer in the US. His voice came from deep in the soul of Cuban music, it was as criollo as lechon on Nochebuena. Israel is no longer with us (he died in 2006), but listen to these great songs and to his work with the Tropicana All-Stars to hear a real master."
