CD Reviews

THE BEST ep Icp has EVER made
Zach Hoepfer | Harvey, ND USA | 05/22/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"this is one of my favorite icp cds. They keep the oringinal sound but add a twist to it. Most of this cd is j and shaggy TRYING to make luv songs, and they do a great job. This isnt like your cute luv songs either its a rap song wit kinda a luv song twist. MOST of the songs on this cd are GREAT but some songs get kinda old after a while. The worst song on this cd is probably "my kinda b*tch" and that is still a pretty good song. BOTTOM LINE: If u are an ICP fan and u dont have this cd GET IT , its well worth any money u pay for it. (P.S. there is an XXX rated cover u can get for this , but it is very rare and the songs are not different from this cd so its yur choice wich one to buy)"
ICP - "Tunnel Of Love E.P." (4 stars)

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Unlike the other reviewer, I'll have to admit that I don't believe that this is ICP's best EP. Although, the tracks are bangers. I don't think it could hold its own to the likes of "Beverly Kills 50187" or "The Terror Wheel EP". But then again that's my own opinion.

To me, this EP does have alot of good flavor. But I'm not exactly feeling the whole "love story" theme. Many Juggalos really enjoy it, but I'm in the very small minorities who don't care for it. When I say "love story" I'm not refering to LL Cool J's type of love story rap. This is more of the sick-sadistic type of love rap. The lyrics here don't disappoint on the majority of the tracks. And not all of the songs are about love, some get a little irrelevent from the love theme (i.e. "Ninja" and "When I Get Out"). That said, the lyrics and concept will probably get from me a B-.

As for the production, it runs pretty well, but again, the love theme, which is also consistant with the production, doesn't do it for me. Mike E. Clark made the beats, I'll give him credit where credit is due, he did do a good job here, just not his best offering. ICP also co-produced this. So the production value gets an average of a C+.

Here's my track-by-track individual ratings.

01. "Intro" (N/A)

02. "Cotton Candy" (B-)

03. "Super Balls (ft. Legs Diamond)" (A-)

04. "Ninja" (B+)

05. "Stomp" (A)

06. "Prom Queen" (B-)

07. "My Kind Of B*tch" (D-) (least favorite)

08. "When I Get Out" (A+) (favorite)

Overall, this is an above average album. I'm also beginning to sense that this album would have gotten a higher rating from me if you asked me when I first heard it. I guess me getting tired of it also contributes to the above average rating. But, then again, it's my opinion.

Before I go, I wanna say that to all the Juggalos reading this and are beginning to feel angered because I gave this album something less than a 5 star, I wanna say; it's my opinion, if you think it's the greatest album ever made, that is 100% fine with me. You can send me hateful comments all you want, but it still doesn't change the fact that everyone has a diverse opinion on everything. Stay open minded.

I recommend this to Juggalos, and Juggalos only. The average hip-hop fan wouldn't be pleased with this one. Peace.
