I Love This Album.

"A few months back, I stopped by the music store near my house because I felt my CD collection was lacking something, but what? Well, the store I went to doesn't have an extensive selection of music but does have an extensive selection of jazz. I've been meaning to check out some Billy Cobham and kept hearing from friends and periodicals about his work with Mahavishnu Orchestra. Completely ignorant to what the album sounded like (which is ironically much like every album I purchase and subsequently cherish), I took a bet and bought the CD.

Wow. Did it blow my mind.

I've been a fan of rock/metal music since I was younger and started getting into real jazz around the time I was in my late teens/early 20s. To see these guys have a wonderful fusion of instruments (I guess the pun has to be intended, eh?) open up a musical landscape is something that's hard to define in words. It doesn't always have the pedal to the floor and there are a lot of nice, chill moments as well. But when they throw it into overdrive, strap on a seat belt and get ready for the ride. The listening experience is wonderful and keeps you captivated from start to finish.

I have to say that this album goes beyond being a good album and is a work of art that is culturally significant to us all. I recommend it to everyone."
