CD Reviews

"I have been faithful to the sinner"

(5 out of 5 stars)

""This is not a dream..." Exhibit by In the Nursery is just as good, if not better than any cinematic score I have ever listened to. I've been hindered with writer's block for a very long time now but this album has really helped in sparking my inspiration to life. Electronica underlies classical driven melodies that can go from epic instrumentals to tribal drums to darkwave synths, creating atmospheres that are melancholy yet beautiful at the same time which captures my feelings perfectly of a tragic love story; evoking both sadness and joy. The dark, heavy symphonica intermixes hypnotic beats with provocative vocals (mostly female) that are often spoken and sung in what sounds to be French. The songs provide a palate of imagery and if my story were to ever become a movie (big dreamer, I know) I would love to have In The Nursery compose the music for it...or I'd very well use some of what's featured here!In The Nursery is one group that is way under appreciated. They have several other albums available and I will not hesitate to check them out in the future."
