"I'm the first person to comment on this album? OK then. Start by saying it's one of the most essential rock and roll albums of all time. That whether you love it or hate it, your collection is incomplete without it, especially if you have any interest in starting a band yourself.

The Stooges' limitations as musicians forced them to find a truly unique style, by playing only what they could play, but playing every note as if their lives depended on it. And that's something anybody can do, whatever their skill level. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have one of the wildest, most charismatic, most infuriating guys ever to front a band. He may be only 5'1", but Iggy is a GIANT.

Even the slow songs are intense. John Cale plays a little cello on "We Will Fall," a song that frightens children. "I Want to Be Your Dog," "No Fun," every song is a classic in its own way.
