"Iain Archer's album "Magnetic North" is among my top 5 of the 2006. It's for those who long for layered, complex finger-picking structures matched with sweet melodic lyrical arrangements. If you like Wilco, Jeff Buckley, Guillemots, or Bright Eyes this is an album for you. It rocks when it needs to: "When It Kicks In." "Canal Song (End of Sentence)" makes me imagine I could breath underwater. "Long Jump" is the best song on the album. "Luke's Point" is an acoustic gem. "Magnetic North" is a rare treat where every song takes to a new place, and somehow it remains cohesive. Songwriting at it's best."
