Hat Trick For Hundred Reasons?

"For anyone who is unfamiliar with Hundred Reasons they are a 5-piece contemporary rock band from England with leaning towards post-hardcore/emo stuff. I really hate having to catagorise music nowdays with stupid sub-genres like that but people seem to feel they need it.

This is their third album and it carries on in a similar vein to the last one. There is a good balance of all out rocking tracks and slower more developed ballads on this album. It doesnt go for the throat as much as their first album "Ideas Above Our Station", however, their songwriting has developed significantly and the tracks are perfectly composed- none of the "i think they should have ended this track about a minute ago" that felt present during "Ideas...".

"Broken Hands", "Kill Your Own", "No Pretending" and "Feed The Fire" offer much for the mosh-pit aficionado while the beautiful simplicity of "This Mess" will delight fans of "Falter" and "Harmony".

Colin's vocals are the best they've ever been on this album although the guitar parts arent quite as well composed as on the other two albums, with the exception of "Broken Hands" and a few others. This is a good album but not a great one, however its definately one to check out as you probably wont be disappointed. Although if you could only choose one Hundred Reasons cd it should be "Shatterproof Is Not A Challenge" which is a masterpiece from start to finish."
