CD Reviews

Lets face it these guys are just tight harmony
Alan Turing | UK | 05/06/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's not that they do anything new with the these great old Motown tracks.

It's just that they do it so well.

Four sweet voices that even make the Australian National Anthem (with Julie Anthony) sound good.

Crikes it is worth getting a silver medal, just not to have to listen one more time. I think it is our psychological warfare on competitors. Thankfully it is not on this album."
Fresh voices for R&B classics
Henrique Peirano | Brasilia, Brazil | 11/15/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I always like to discover new versions of 50's/60's R&B, Soul classics. Originally just another boy band, this Australian group seems to have matured and on this CD offers a quartet of fresh voices singing songs like "Baby I Need Your Lovin'", "Reach Out I'll Be There", and "I Want You Back". The instrumental part doesn't offer anything new, sticking to the way the Funk Brothers and other musicians used to play back in the Motown days, but it's still a very well recorded and sung CD. Worthwhile listening to."
Nicely done
Derrick Jenkins | Hampton VA USA | 10/02/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The came out and did a great job of covering these legendary Motown hits by various artists. They have a tight harmony and flow with each song and they add their own thing to each individual song. But without taking anything away from the original song and that takes some talent to be able to pull off "I Want You Back" or even "Stop! In The Name of Love". Being those were huge hits for the Jackson 5 and the Supremes respectively.

I give it 4 stars for it being a cover album...but one that is done with the utmost class and respect. I couldnt ask for a better cd to remind me of how Motown was churning out the hits for years.

Great pickup."
