Album Description
2006 two-fer by this Country and songwriting legend. On Pistol Packin' Mama (originally released in 1982), Axton mixes his own songs with covers of 'Pistol Packin' Mama', Johnny Cash's 'I Walk The Line', Cole Porter's 'Don't Fence Me In', Joni Mitchell's 'For Free', and country standard 'There Stands The Glass'. Spin The Wheel (originally released in 1990) again features Axton originals with a cover of his mother's composition for Elvis Presley 'Heartbreak Hotel', and Robbie Robertson's 'The Weight'. Features lyrics plus sleevenotes by Alan Robinson. Edsel.
