CD Reviews

Great electric albums - Error in Track Listing
Kevman | White Plains, NY USA | 08/25/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great coupling of two fairly similar albums. The track listing on the CD (and as shown on Amazon) is wrong. For some reason the 1976 Hoppkorv tracks are the first ones on the CD followed by the 1975 Yellow Fever tracks. It all here, so if you think someting is missing or you got the wrong CD, its just the sequencing does not match what is listed on the CD. The correct track listing is:

1. Santa Claus Retreat

2. Watch the North Wind Rise

3. It's So Easy

4. Bowlegged Woman, Knock Kneed Man

5. Drivin' Around

6. I Wish You Would

7. I Can't Be Satisfied

8. Talking 'Bout You

9. Extrication Love Song

10. Songs from the Stainless Cymbal

11. Baby What You Want Me to Do

12. Hot Jelly Roll Blues

13. Free Rein

14. Sunrise Dance with the Devil

15. Song for the Fire Maiden

16. Bar Room Crystal Ball

17. Half/Time Saturation

18. Surphase Tension"
Two Great Hot Tuna Albums On One CD
The Footpath Cowboy | Kingston, NY United States | 06/28/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"YELLOW FEVER/HOPPKORV features two great Hot Tuna albums on one CD. The former shows the band in all of its hard-rocking, blues-based glory, whereas the latter displays more of a pop direction while still featuring hot guitars from Jorma Kaukonen and top-flight bass playing by Jack Casady. The cover of Buddy Holly's "It's So Easy" here beats the dickens out of Linda Ronstadt's desecration of the same song two years later. Kaukonen's and Casady's advocacy of sanctions against Indonesia in retaliation for that country's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist makes this CD an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience."
HOT FREAKIN' TUNA
Terry | Long Beach, NY | 06/08/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"From about '73 to '77 (high school) I saw Tuna about a dozen times. Yellow Fever captures their "Live" 3 man band, and Hopkorv juices it up with a couple of extra parts. Key tracks: Sunrise Dance w/ the Devil and Jelly Roll Blues from Fever, Watch the North Wind Rise and Wish You Would from Hopkorv. Great Covers include Jimmy Reed's Baby What You Want Me To Do and Muddy Waters' Can't Be Satisfied. Great idea to put these two albums onto one cd."
