"Okay..first off. I went through this whole stage where I thought all of the drive-thru record bands sucked. Then i started listening to this band again. Home Grown might not bring anything new to the pop-punk scene lyrically, but they give Blink-182, Good Charlotte (even though i dislike them), and a New Found Glory a run for their money. The guitars give good riffs, and they sound a lot like Blink-182 riffs in most songs. anyways...the singers don't sound too much like Tom or Mark from Blink-182, but the pattern is the same. In other words, a drummer, and two guitar players who both sing (just like Blink-182). The ditched the ska-punk thing, and went straight pop punk on this cd. If they had more exposure, they could have been as popular as Yellowcard or the Ataris, because Home Grown is better (in my opinion). THe catchiness of Sugarcult, the humor of Blink-182, the singing of allister, and the guitar power of sum 41 all in one. since im not good at those if blah and blah had sex this would be their offspring stuff so...COMPARISONS: Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Sum-41, Green Day, Catalyst-era NFG, Sugarcult, Unsung Zeroes, Allister, Nerf Herder, GOB. For fans of Fall Out Boy, Allister, and Blink-182."

It had to grow on me...

"Having never been a ska-punk fan, I never got the chance to get into Home grown in their earlier years... A friend of mine had burned a whole buncha crap onto a mix CD and was playing it in his car when the song "I Love you, Not" came on. It was super catchy and reminded me alot of Mest's "breakin' down". I went out and got the CD (along with their EP "when it all comes down") and at first I didn't like it. The only other song that truly stuck out was "disaster". After a few more listens though, most of the songs stuck and now its hard to pick a favorite. I'd also like to note that the guitarist in "home grown" is highly above average for the pop-punk genre, giving guitar lovers something along the lines of SUM 41 meets RUFiO. I'd recommend this album to you if you like: Mest, Blink 182, SUM 41, Allister, RUFiO and maybe even A New Found Glory."
