Yet Another Fine Holst's THE PLANETS from Sir Andrew Davis

"I'm not sure whether this recording of Gustav Holst's The Planets is preferable to Sir Andrew Davis' previous version with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Both are elegant, exciting accounts. However, this one is blessed with slightly better sound quality from Teldec's engineers. It is also coupled with one of Holst's lesser known works, Egdon Heath. Without question, this splendid recording only confirms Sir Andrew Davis' stature as one of our foremost interpreters of Holst's music."
