(4 out of 5 stars)
"The recording date - 1939 - places this smack in the middle of the best sessions recorded by Earl 'Fatha' Hines' band. Although I have not heard any of these particular recordings (hence the star short), I can easily hear (in the 'listening samples') that the quality of the recording, the personnel (Walter fuller jumps out immediately) and, most importantly, the fire and the tightness, are all present. For myself, this will be a pleasant suprise to hear more from one of the tightest, most swinging bands of the 1930s."
