Great Ideas is right!
James V. Cimarusti | 07/14/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great session with Herbie Mann on Bass Clarinet with Jack Sheldon on Trumpet and a fantastic rhythm section of Jimmy Rowles (Piano), Buddy Clark (Bass), and Mel Lewis (Drums). One bad mark though is that the bonus track, "Blues For Tomorrow", is NOT by Herbie Mann's Californians but by the East Coast All-Stars from the compilation CD "Blues For Tomorrow". (It is really from the sessions for "Monk's Music" by Thelonious Monk). The correct bonus track from that compilation to complete the sessions is "A Sad Thing". Fortunately, the CD "Blues For Tomorrow" is available to obtain this bonus track."
