CD Reviews

More solid production from Sweden
J. Presas | San Antonio TX | 06/23/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I first heard this record late last year and just never picked it up because I thought there wasn't enough music for the pricetag. I walked into a used record store the other day (looking for Tom Petty of all things!) and found this for 5 bucks! It was a killer record day for sure. Anyway, I was mostly interested in this record because this is the latest production from Eskil Lovstrom and Pelle Henricsson. (Refused-The Shape of punk to come etc.) They really make this record a standout as they do with all their other work and I feel if it wasn't for them this record wouldn't be nearly as good.

That aside, this is a really good record. If it were lost or stolen I'd buy another at full cost because it has grown on me. Stand out tracks for me are "Kamichi" "Transmit Disrupt" and "Silent as the Grave" I would re-purchase this album for just those three tracks. Anyway, a good way to describe this band is (I feel) they are a perfect mixture of Bloc Party, Refused and Fugazi. If you like those bands you'll probably dig this record. I'm not saying they don't have their own thing going on, which they do, but they have elements of each afformentioned band and I dig all three...so it's no wonder I like it.

Bottom Line: A standout among others from last year, but not exactly a huge landmark record. Production is first rate. All tracks are worth listening to with some major standouts. Buy it."
