"Helen Love is a Ramones-obsessed group (i know, that's quite an understatement) that create the most bubblegummy pop rock of all time! it was always exciting to stumble upon their fabulous import ep's in record stores, and their 10" record is also great. while this full-length cd is not quite an effective listen as their past efforts, it still has that great Helen Love jumpy cheery appeal that shows the band making some small changes on their sound. songs like the title track, "Atomic Beat Boy", "Better Set Your Phasers To Stun." incorporate more of a syrupy techno feel, which kinda works, but it seems to give the songs a more disposable feel to them. but all is forgiven when you hear the dream team of Helen and Joey Ramone singing "Punk Boy." Helen returned the favour by guesting on Joey's song "Mr. Punchy" from his solo cd. this cd is full of super happy, catchy pop punk that should appeal to fans of Ramones (well...duh) and Bis. Helen Love is so sweet...this cd is capable of causing cavities, so be careful!"
