Not Bad...

(4 out of 5 stars)

"So the singer sounds just like CoF's Dani Filth, circa 'Dusk..& Her Embrace'...BIG DEAL! Why does this seem to be such a bone of contention with everyone? 1,000 vocalists sounded like Tom Fischer (Warrior) after Celtic Frost debuted, but so what? Makes sense that if he can well pull off the Filth vocal, then go for it! Doesn't really matter who came first, as long as there's QUALITY in songwriting, musicianship, etc. This is a pretty good effort, and since Dani Filth's vocal style appeals to me, it's nice to be able to hear it from a band other than CoF. Every band is an extension of a band that came before it, to some degree. Amazon offers snippets, so 'don't like it, don't buy it'. I bought it."
My favourite album

"This is by far my favourite album I own, and I own hundreds of albums (the majority in metal - mostly black metal). Right from the haunted beginnings of Goetia to The Danse Macabre you will be hooked.
Alot of people dismiss Hecate Enthroned (at least the first 3 albums - in my opinion the only good ones) for being a Cradle of Filth copy cat. They may have similar vocals and instrumental tracks but once you have listened to this album a few times you realise that those things are vastly different from CoF. In my opinion, the vocals are much more screamy, with alot more feeling. I am not dissing CoF (at least early CoF) but I just think Hecate Enthroned are far more superior. Hecate Enthroned uses the acoustic guitar in a few songs which also adds a nice touch. Every song on this album is engulfed with emotion, whether it be sadness, or anger - it is brilliant.
Stand out tracks, if I had to choose them, would be Beneath a December Twilight, The Spell of the Winter Forest and Within the Ruins of Eden.
Buy this album. It will be one of the best purchases you ever buy."
