"Josef Locke, one of the world's most well-known and best loved Irish tenors, died in 1999 aged 84. The world is at a terrible loss for his passing, but yet is so much richer for having shared in his talent.This CD captures all the wit and charm that drew so many people to Josef. It includes the traditional Irish favourites we all know and love such as "Galway Bay" and "The Rose Of Tralee", which introduces a fun singalong element to the music, but also includes timeless operettas like "Santa Lucia" and "Come Back To Sorrento". For me, this shows how versatile Josef Locke was with regard to what he sang.This CD has music for every occassion, whether you are feeling proud, happy, sad, romantic, jealous - it's all there. Even the sad songs lighten your spirits! Locke had the expert quality of introducing very strong emotion into his voice which the listener could hear and thus themselves become involved with the song emotionally.Josef Locke's "HEAR MY SONG" album will draw you in, and you will be a fan for life, as I am."
