CD ReviewsSkip the title track and head to the bonus one! Adrian Thacker | 04/16/2002 (3 out of 5 stars) "Harris & Cox are the collective team known as Thunderpuss. Thunderpuss have wrecked many a dancefloor in the past few years and I'm sure there are many more club anthems to come from them. Although you may have noticed that their remix work is far superior to their own stuff. Look at the way they've reworked Amber, Whitney Houston, Madonna and even the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears into clubland staples. Besides "Dive In The Pool" by Barry Harris (featuring Pepper Mashay on vocals), their own stuff has been pretty bland. "FMH" is no different."FMH" - Harris & Cox
1) Club Mix - 9:19 - sure, it's got stomp stomp beats, some cool synths, and some good breakdowns, but it goes ABOSOLUTEY nowhere for 9 freakin' minutes! Boring and droll.2) Dub Mix - 9:33 - the dub starts out more promising than the Club Mix, but quickly falls into the same "thump thump" boredom as the original mix. Highly avoidable. And where did the title come from? "FMH" stands for a certain "Four Letter Expletive" Me Harder - I'm sure you can figure it out.bonus tracks:I LIKE THE WAY - DENI HINES 3) Thunderpuss Club Mix - 7:36 - Now this is the stuff you want! Thunderpuss rolls out an awesome remix with this one. Starting with the chants of "Do You Wanna Go Deep?" which bring us into the solid beats that may still just go "thump thump", but there's so much more style to this than "FMH" ever hopes to have. And I think most people will agree with me - when Thunderpuss works with vocals, they do so much better.4) Thunderdub - 6:18 - Again starting with the "Do You Wanna Go Deep" chants, this one follows almost the exact same set up as the Club Mix, but doesn't continue on to the full vocal. And while it does have some really cool moments, one can't help but to think that this is a waste of time. This one is also known as the "Deep Hard Cox Mix".so only get this one for the Thunderpuss Club Mix of "I Like The Way" for it is the only track that you'll listen to more than once on this disc.Better luck on your next solo venture Barry & Chris!" |
