Synopsis

Product Description
Harmonies is a girls choral group based in Los Angeles, comprised of girls ages 8 through 18 under the musical direction of Orchestral and Choral Conductor Maestro Antonio Espinal, founder of the choir. Established in 2002, Harmonies is one of the most dynamic and versatile girls choirs in the city of Los Angeles. The choir has been recognized for the dedication of St. Thomas Church in 2002, and since performs every year at St. Sophia Orthodox Cathedral and Our Lady of the Angeles Cathedral, where they are booked frequently for events.

Pianist, arranger, orchestral and choral conductor, Mr. Antonio Espinal has been recognized as one of the most talented young conductors, pianists and musicians in his native country of Mexico. He has received many distinctions, prizes, grants and scholarships in Mexico and Chile, as well as the USA. In 2000, Mr. Espinal was invited by Maestro Esa-Pekka Salonen, conductor of the LA Philharmonic, as his apprentice. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Andrew Carnegie Scholarship, and two-time recipient of the most important conductor s award from Mexico s National Endowment for the Arts and Culture in 1996 and 2000.

This album is a special collection of rare Christmas songs and arrangements from all over Latin America, including traditional and recent renditions of tunes and melodies from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
