Album DescriptionHanson and Davis comprised Aaron Hanson and Edward J. Davis. After being signed to Fresh Records they hit the dance floors with "Tonight (Love Will Make It Right)" in 1985. The disc made No. 20 on Billboard's dance chart. Self -produced, they used Timmy Regisford for editing on this cut. Regisford was a big club DJ especially at the Paradise Garage and soon moved into club promotion before becoming an A&R man for MCA Records where he was responsible for the progression of acts such as Mary J Blige, Eric B. & Rakim and Johnny Gill to the forefront. They released an album "Can't Stop" but had disbanded by the late 80's. Their brand of dance was variously known as Freestyle or Latin Freestyle or even Latin Hip Hop in its earliest incarnations. Without Hanson & Davis there might not have been any Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Miami Sound Machine or Safire and any number of 80s acts who were influenced by these breakthrough singles.
