Best version of Handels beautiful Trio Sonatas
Elliot Jones | Buffalo, NY | 01/22/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"London Baroque are superb for this, Op,5 and also Handels other set of Trio Sonatas Op,2. The recording is crystal clear and the harmonies between the players are absolutely spectacular!! Put a pair of headphones on and sit in your favorite easy chair and try to stop listening. I can't do it! I love Baroque music and especially chamber style, particularly Trio Sonatas. London Baroque are the bench mark for Handels Trio Sonatas when it comes to strings and continuo. These recording have been out for quite a long time and they stand up to the best recording techniques to this day still. I own this and Opus #2 both on Harmonia Mundi but I believe the very good and trusted bargain label Naxos also have these same recordings. Either way they are one and the same and thee best, most beautiful, and you should own it. Let your ears be in heaven, Enjoy."
