Bylsma | Enschede, Niederlande | 03/30/2009 (3 out of 5 stars) "As an absolute baroque junky and Handel lover I always listen several times to newly acquired cd's - not so this time. Nice recording and all the notes are there, nicely in tune. Yet in my opinion this is the 'thirteen in a dozen' kind of interpretation for which some British ensembles have been said to be known, many of them not rightly so. But comfort ye, my people: it's not difficult to find many more exciting recordings of this great music and moreover: within it's original context. De gustibus non est disputandum - yes, I know. For me however, the last two tracks from Solomon can't make up for more than 70 minutes with hardly any surprise or moment of excitement - Handel deserves better than average."
