Album Description
Handel's Messiah is not only one of the most famous works in the oratorio literature, but without doubt is also the best-known work by its composer. Following a premiere in Dublin, Messiah was given for the first time in London in 1743 and Germany in 1772, and since has entered the repertoire for all times. In 1980 Ross Pople founded the London Festival Orchestra, whose numerous recordings for have attracted positive reviews, and he has been seen often on the BBC.
