The second 'Ace 10 Inch CD' pays tribute to 'The First Lady Of Modern Records', the late Hadda Brooks. This remastered compilation, mostly instrumental, draws it's content from the many invigorating boogie pieces she recorded for Modern between 1945 & 1951 - including, for the first time on a legit CD, both sides of Modern's debut 78rpm release. 19 tracks including one hidden track, Radio KRE aircheck 1946 'Improvised Boogie'. 2003.

"Hadda Brooks is usually remembered as a woman who sang blusey torch songs in night clubs. But this record shows an aspect of her talent that is often forgotten... She was one amazing piano player, mixing boogie woogie and jump blues. These tracks really rock! You think Marcia Ball swings? Check out this sh_t and then consider that it was recorded between 50 and 60 years ago! By the way, don't be put off by the age of the tracks. I don't know how they did it but these have been beautifuly remastered and sound like they were recorded last week."
