CD Reviews

Good for a laugh?!

"Until now I've never once written a review in objection to someone else's opinion but I found the remarks Magnus made to be rude and unfair. In this person's choice of words, the sounds of this, or anything else Gregorian has put out, has apparently failed to reach his biased ears so how can you completely knock something you've never even heard before? For anyone to do that is immature and disrespectful to the musician(s). Not to mention discouraging to fans or newcomers thinking of buying a certain album. I thought the concept of taking popular songs from the 80s and 90s and redoing them with monks sounded cheesy too but I recently acquainted myself with "Masters Of Chant Chapter III" and practically had to eat my words (or initial assumption) for I found it to be more incredible than I ever could have imagined! These guys can seriously make any song work to their advantage and I definitely plan on obtaining their entire collection which, as of today, consists of four albums, so please don't listen to Magnus, or any other negative reviews that may be thrown their way because they're simply pitiful and undeserved. They're just tasteless attacks from close-minded people that have nothing better to do than to bash a group or artist for exploring the boundaries by expanding their horizons. Even if I don't agree with what someone else has to say I always respect their different views; however, to disrepute something without listening first just isn't right. And yes, it does upset me. I think that's been made obvious. "Good for a laugh only." Sheeesh, give me a break."
Amazing!

"I just received this CD, and I have to say that it is an amazing bit of music. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I am very happy with this, and will likely purchase the other albums by Gregorian.I'm not really sure what Magnus was listening to, but I have a hard time believing it was the same album I have."
A truely remarkable collection of music redone brilliantly!

"Grab this album, its music surprisingly sounds better than some of the original pieces. To degrade it like Magnus did I think creates a truely bad influence to people interested in giving it a go in regards to not purchasing it. Try it - you will be very surprised!!!"
